Obituary for Tyler Lane

Tyler Lane
November 20, 2017, my beloved son, Larry "Tyler" Lane, was taken tragically from my life. August 4, 1988 our family was blessed with the most perfect and precious baby boy.

Tyler spent his entire life in camo and in the woods, by a trout stream or late night cat fishing with his buddies or his son Jordan. He was a talented welder and provided for his family by working at Arch Coal in Grafton. Tyler was very proud of his career and loved being a coal miner.

Tyler was blessed by God to have the most wonderful examples of what a man should be in his life. He worshiped and loved with every ounce of his heart his "Ga", Larry Tetrick. There was no other man in Tyler's life that showed him more love and guidance. In no comparison is there any man that he loved more.

His Uncle, Donnie Akers, was the light and tenderness in Tyler's life for many years. His Uncle Donnie showed Tyler compassion, love and a strong sense of belonging that he desperately needed. Unfortunately, Donnie also left this life entirely too soon.

Although they went head to head like two bucks in the woods, his Uncle Todd loved him and was someone that Tyler has always looked up to. It was always important that Tyler had his Uncle Todd's approval and that he knew of his every accomplishment.

His step father, Steve Barker, who was a father to Tyler for many years and accepted him as his own.

He told stories of gargantuan bucks to all his hunting buddies, his Uncle Greg and Shawn, Vince, Melvin and Chase. Along with all of his friends, we all knew Tyler loved to tell the "tall tale".

There was one gentle soul that had a way with Tyler that no one else did, his grandma, Sally Tetrick. He may have made her furious at times with his less than gentle tone, but she loved him with all of her heart.

Tyler adored his "Sis", Marisa Lane and his niece Lily. Lily absolutely loved her Uncle Tyler and will miss him terribly.

There is no one that will miss this shining light more than myself and his beautiful wife, Alison Jaye Lane. I don't know how life is supposed to go on now. When his heart stopped beating, so did a part of ours. Where do we go from here without that smile and that handsome face? Our lives will be forever tragically altered. It is by the Grace and hand of God that we move forward from this loss.

Tyler also leaves behind his three sons Jordan, Ryker and Jaxon and his unborn child. Tyler has always wanted a little girl and her name has been chosen to be Oakley, in honor of her Daddy, or Larry Briar, to continue the legacy of his "Ga". His brother Zakery Bart, his wife Kale and his niece Macy. Macy was never a fan of Uncle Tyler, no matter how many cookies he tried to bribe her with.

Tyler also loved his Aunt, Tricia Tetrick, as they shared an understandable bond and proudly wore together their titles "middle child" and "rebel".

His grandparents, Steve and Sue Barker.

His cousin Ashli Joyce and her two children Michael and Adecyn. Gage, Faith, Ella and Cooper Tetrick. Laura, Nichole, Lisa and Emily Akers. His Aunts Gwen Akers and his Aunt Bev.

Tyler had so many friends that would have done anything for him.

He will be missed and loved forever, by so very many.

Tyler was proceeded in death by his son, Hunter Lane.

A tribute to Tyler will be held at Higher Rock Ministries (Former Jewel City Church building) Rt 20, Shinnston, WV on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 5-7 PM with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Tim Sandy and Pastor Mike Hamrick officiating. In leiu of flowers, please send a donation to your charity of choice. PLEASE WEAR YOUR CAMO! That is what Tyler would have wanted.
