Robert Lee “Bob” Stire, 78, of Spelter, passed away at 2:04pm, Sunday, November 19, 2017 at WV University Hospitals Ruby Memorial, Morgantown. He was born in Lumberport, January 10, 1939, a son of the late Donald Thermond and Delia Maude Lindsey Stire. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Sue Sendling Stire, whom he married, November 30, 1961. Also surviving are his children, Mona Cole, David Lee Stire, and David Andrew Preston, six grandchildren, Joshua Floyd and his wife Melissa, Brandon Floyd, Amanda Riley and her husband Robbie, Nathan Eckloff, Brittany Stire and her companion Chuckles Jenkins, and Shianne Stire, 13 great-grandchildren, Alexious, Landon, Hunter, Hayden, Ethan, Kira, Kaydence, Brenden, Declen, Alex, Kane, Nicole, and Lariah, his sisters, Shirley Bunnell, MD, Lecia Coen, Gypsy, Betty Harris, Clarksburg, Lois Markley, Lumberport, brothers, Thomas Stire, Lumberport, Kenny Stire, Lumberport, John Stire, Lumberport. He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Stire, and his siblings, Mary Ellen Stire, Donald Stire, Jr., Frank Stire, Stella Wright, and Charles Stire.
Bob retired from Consol Energy, Robinson Run Mine, with 31 years service. He was a member of the UMWA. He was a jack of all trades who loved camping and dancing.
Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 11am until the time of the service at 2pm, Saturday, November 25 with Rev. Alfred Duncan officiating.
