Louie Marra, 81, of Hepzibah, passed away at 9:30am, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Shinnston, November 25, 1936 a son of the late John and Janie Seamon Marra. On June 2, 1961 he married Josephine Margaret “Jo Ann” Kerere Marra who preceded him in death on May 18, 2001. Surviving are one son Louie Michael Marra and his wife Lori, Hepzibah, one granddaughter, Lilliann Marra Beveridge, two step grandchildren, Tiffany Mosgrove and Justin Bennett, four step great-grandchildren, Madison, Andrea, Wyatt, and Gracelyn Bennett, one sister, Rose Marra Fluharty, Shinnston, two brothers, John Marra, Jr., Shinnston, James Marra and his wife Marielena, Nutter Fort, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Sam Marra and Franklin “Montana” Marra, a brother-in-law, Donald Lee Fluharty, and Sister-in-law, Lula Ellen Marra.
Louie was a welder that retired from the Ziesing Zinc Plant in Spelter where he was employed for 41 years. He was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Shinnston. He liked to hunt and fish. His number one hobby was spending time with and caring for his son, which he enjoyed every day. The family would like to thank Dr. Lance Dubberke and his staff and the staff of People’s Hospice for their kindness and care.
The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm, on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 with Father Patsy Wash officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
